Types of Advertising Agencies and Creative Agencies in San Diego

Advertising requires a lot of planning and flawless execution. Most small businesses are hiring creative agencies in San Diego to help create advertisements and promotions. But advertising is much more than being creative; it requires technical know-how of target groups, advertisement tools, online marketing strategies and many more.

A complete marketing agency consists of many sub-groups that deal with a specific type of marketing or promotion. Many firms focus on specialized marketing, dealing with all kinds of online and offline marketing. Here are the common types of advertising agencies in San Diego:

1. Creative Marketing Agencies

Due to the high demand for creative marketing agencies in San Diego, the city is currently experiencing a boom in the industry as the number of companies increase. Creative agencies are those who deal with creative advertisements and promotions. The advertisement may be online or offline. Online ads include videos, text, and images on websites and social media, whereas offline ads consist of billboards, television ads, posters and newspaper ads. Their main job is to simply create innovative advertisements.

2. In-House Marketing Agencies

They are usually created by big businesses and organizations to work only for them. These agencies consist of teams hired by the business itself, and they work on creating promotional materials, marketing strategies and advertisements for the business only. These are usually full-fledged agencies that deal with every aspect of marketing and advertisement. For example, Apple has its own in-house marketing agency and they don’t work with third-party marketing firms.

3. Marketing Dealers

They don’t do marketing; their main job is to offer their clients a place to post their ads. For example, if a business wants to have a billboard ad in San Diego, they have to first contact a creative marketing agency or full-fledged marketing agency. The agency will create the billboard ad, and give it back to the business. The business will then contact a marketing dealer agency that owns that billboard and pay them to have the ad put on the billboard. Dealers also work with television and newspaper advertising.

4. Targeted Marketing Agencies

These are marketing agencies that use a specific form of advertising that targets a certain channel. Common mediums of marketing include online advertisements, SMS messages, email marketing and so on. They generally use all modern means of communication at disposal to propagate an advertisement.

5. Full-Fledged Marketing Agencies

These are marketing agencies that do every form of marketing mentioned above. They usually have sub-divisions in their offices that deal with specific tasks related to a marketing campaign. For example, the creative department will come up with an ad idea; the graphics department will create the ad, the targeted department will implement targeted ads and so on. They are usually large businesses consisting of different experts for different forms of marketing.
